Smallmouth Bass are strong fighters and offer a long season for fisherman that enjoy catching hearty bass, especially in rivers.  We like to mix up our Deadly Dozens with flies of varying weights, so that the angler has enough fly options to find the depth where the fish are holding. Another consideration is current speed. In the event you are fishing rivers, faster currents will require more weight on the fly.
